References
Frequently prospective employers will ask for three or more personal or professional references. These are people who know you well and can attest to your personal character or professional abilities. You may want to use a teacher, coach, guidance counselor or other school staff member as a reference. Additionally, a current or former employer (including volunteer positions) may be willing to be a useful professional reference. Often neighbors or family friends who have known you for a long time would make good personal references.
It is important to ask each person if they would be willing to be a reference for you in advance of giving their name. Additionally, verify their job title, organization name, address, and phone number. Email addresses are also helpful to provide.
